Ta-daaaa.
As I’m forging more of an online identity for myself, I needed to give more thought to how I come off to people.
I went through a whole bunch of ideas before I went back to “kaleidoscopic,” the name of my old Wordpress. At the time, I picked the name because I wanted to talk about several subjects and not restrict myself to a particular theme. I still take the same approach to blogging. “Kaleidoscopic” gave the sense that the blog was always changing itself. “Kaleido” is a shorter, catchier version of that. I almost think of it as the name of a character. It also means “beautiful form,” which is perfect since I thrive off of visual stimulation, and hopefully my work also reflects that.
The font doesn’t exactly fit my casual-but-hip idea for “kaleido,” but I returned to it because I couldn’t shake it off and was tired of searching through fonts that all looked the same after a while. I did want to come off as more friendly, but I think that’s possible with accompanying copy in a different font (see second image).
Thoughts? Constructive feedback?
